I think the slandering, smear campaigns and hooliganism that'll follow will have a far greater impact than the results themselves. If ANC maintains a strong following the EFF will be upset, tell everybody the ANC rigged the votes, call for a reelection and raze a couple of buildings. If the ANC loses its strong following we'll have protesters in the street flinging feces at buildings and possibly burn down a school or six. If the DA wins outright...both of the above in unison and the destruction of more statues. If the EFF wins outright...both of the above in addition to white farmers stocking up on .303 rounds and calls for Cape Town to become a sovereign state Regardless of what happens tomorrow one thing is sure - somewhere something will be destroyed.

I don't own PTXTEN, I have STPROP. When I do buy more property shares I'll go PTXTEN (that way I have the full index but HEAVY exposure to the top 10). M ore happy about the DIVTRX in my TFIA. But then even though it is up 2.2% today it doesn't really make up for all the losses since Friday : ...yet

ABSA - cheapest except if you go the single shares route. Biggest (and BEST ) platform out there is OST.

It's compulsory when you buy a vehicle under finance. Claiming for a small amount like R4k might affect your premiums and also your no claim bonus/discount. If you are willing to take the risk you can up your excess and get a lower premium.

I did. Knew about them capping at 10% (which is what I sort of wanted from SWIX), but never knew about the holding company being excluded.

Car, bike, household, camera...all insured. Reckless to go without it, it could ruin you. I dropped my bike in a low speed incident because of a pedestrian. The only damage was cosmetic (a few scratches, broken indicator etc) - R15k worth of damages. Things I do not insure is my cellphone. Granted I do not buy expensive iPhones but at R3-4k for a replacement it hardly seems worth the hassle to insure (and claim) such small amounts.

I hate selective dates like this. It means nothing. DIVTRX gained 14.68% from 1 Jan to today, but from 21 Jan to 20 Apr it 31.82%.... imagine what it could be in 3.5 years...

Holy shiaat, 4 properties at 28 years old? R100 000 in satrix and R50 000 in his TFSA and more in a regular 7% savings account??? that's over R2 million in assets. And he's younger than me. shiaat. Wonder if this person actually exists? "Pinch of salt needed" Yes, but he is R1,710,000 in debt (some of it at 13.5% with interest rates potentially rising). His monthly expenses will be pretty high too (4x levies, tax, insurance etc). If he is real he must be coining it at his age just to keep up.

With regards to the house - make double sure that's what you want. My gf is struggling to sell hers as it is. All that money in that "investment"...and it is stuck. Personally, never owned one either and not planning to in the near future (if ever). My rent is at R8500 pm but no property tax, levies, maintenance costs or interest to pay because of a massive loan.
