  1. I had the same thought on the property front, keep it in the mix with the potential of increasing it in future.
  2. So I have done some more reading and some more dart-throwing...Think I am going to move my stuff around and structure my portfolio as follows: Local: INDI25 - 20% STXQUA - 20% PTXTEN - 5% International: STXWDM - 20% STXEMG - 20% SYG4IR - 10% GLPROP - 5% Not sure if I am a bit light on property but I think this is a nice spread.
  3. So I am filling up my TFSA for the first time this year and will be adding some ETFs to diversify my portfolio. At the moment I have the following: Satrix 40 Satrix Indi25 SYGNIA 4IR CoreShares S&P500 The plan is to have the following with a 40(local)/60(international) split: INDI25 ABSA NFTRCI CTOP50 GLPROP SYGNIA 4IR STXEMG STXWDM (or ASHGEQ) If I add the Emerging Market and World ETF, is it worth it to keep a portion in the S&P 500?
  4. Although I am glad that all matters of corruption are investigated, the examples stream down from the top, surely we should be paying more attention to get that right. It's like arresting the street dealer and letting the main distribution man go.
  5. I had a good December in this sense. R300 secret santa gifts and R300 for some other small gifts. Put R3k towards my TFSA and an extra R3k towards my bond.
  6. Oh yes, hahaha. Added the 4IR one.
  7. I added some of the SYGNIA ITRIX to my TFSA, see it's at 4.31%. How about this Steinhoff story, hectic what can happen in a day. Perhaps there can be some value buying in the near future... https://www.moneyweb.co.za/news/companies-and-deals/steinhoff-shares-down-on-certain-non-disclosures-in-europe/
  8. So I am still relatively new to this. At the moment my main focus is on my TFSA but I am looking at adding one share a year, possibly two if I have the extra finances through the year with the current aim at 10 stocks. My TFSA is made up of three ETFs, soon to be four: CoreShares S&P 500 Satrix 40 Satrix Indi 25 Soon adding SYGNIA Itrix At the moment the split is 30/40/30 but this will change when I get the SYGNIA ETF. Equity wise I currently own: Dis-Chem > 85% Purple Group > 15% I will be adding Stadio shortly. I am looking more into small to mid cap as my TFSA currently has a lot of exposure to big stocks. My next two stocks after Stadio will most likely be big stocks though. At the moment I am entirely planted in a buy-and-hold longterm strategy.
  9. I'm definitely getting in on this.
  10. I’m looking for a Gopro 5 or 6 and a Karma Grip if anyone sees something.
  11. Good day, New here after doing some reading on some of the threads. I am from Centurion, working in the manufacturing industry, 29 years old. I have developed a passion for investing over the last year or so and I'm involving myself more and more each day. I preach TFSA at the moment to anyone I talk to and have a few friends and family members who I talk shares with. A bit about my financials: - I have an RA which I put money into on a monthly basis as well as a lump sum in January of each year. - I opened a TFSA with EE and have been depositing into that for about a year now, I aim to fill that up for the current financial year. - I also bought some Dischem shares in December last year and my return is currently sitting at about 40%. I am interested in buying more shares with the main aim more at buying and holding for the long term than short-term buying and selling. The plan at the moment is to buy in another company during December or January so I am busy with some research on that. Hoping to gain some value and hopefully also add a little.
