  1. That is exactly my problem currently, I've invested everything I have with almost nothing in the green, so selling to buy more of something else is not an option at this point in time. The waiting game, she is a bitch.
  2. Watch! Watch how this now gets added in the budget speech if someone tweets this thread to Parliament I've already entered this into their TIP site 5 times today, will keep adding as the week goes on, however I doubt it will make any difference in the end. Besides, it has been tabled and discussed in parliament before if I'm not mistaken? Good article that was released last week on this exact issue http://www.fin24.com/Opinion/sas-tax-dilemma-hiking-vat-vs-wealth-taxes-20170127
  3. Plenty essentials are currently VAT exempt and more can be added to aid the poor. At the end of the day everyone needs to pay that little bit extra and not just the usual bunch that keeps on getting screwed over and over each year when taxes get raised. Anyways, no real point in discussing this as it will never happen in SA due to people have zero balls and foresight
  4. Corruption isn't going to change overnight , but VAT can. It's a short term solution which can hopefully buffer the economy until corruption gets weeded out little by little until VAT can be lowered again.
  5. Every single year SONA is so embarrassing to watch, it makes me cringe on so many different levels. The incompetence ratio grows twofold yearly.
  6. Yes of course, it's by far the easiest and simplest way for treasury to get money needed for development and reducing our ever increasing debt.
  7. I'll be submitting the INCREASE THE FCKING VAT TO 18% tip as many times as I can before then. On a side note, that is one really bad looking FORM/website........... god these useless *bad word* please do not do that ers makes me angry.

    Hello :)

Welcome, sounds like you will be having your hands full I'll gladly play around with whatever you create in the end, should be entertaining.
  9. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic as I think their non SA branches has far more room for growth as those countries still have around 4 - 8 percent GDP growth, plus most of them have only recently come online, with some near to completion. Their revenue can only increase from here since they spent a ton of money developing and deploying these new revenue streams.
  10. I just hope they market this right so that more people know about them come launch time, otherwise it's going to be an uphill battle.
  11. Hmmm yes, I haven't looked at GT247 at all, guess I'll need to do my homework on that as well.
  12. I use Saxo, flexible and have access to lots of markets Looking at Saxo, not that bad cost wise, considering you can get exposure in so many different markets. Basically twice as much as EE, but with many more options available. Think I'll read a bit more, might be worth considering this platform.
  13. The cheapie EE
  14. Yes it is, but that can be said for almost anything "made in SA" or in the case, mined in SA
  15. No doubt, however I don't sell anything at a LOSS anymore. If it takes 5 years to recover, then so be it
  16. Not interested in actual GOLD I'm still holding Harmony, didn't have the time to sell before it was to late, so guess I'll have to ride this one out. Think I'm roughly 30% down on it Hopefully The Donald drives gold up.
  17. Anyone else still riding this out? Haven't really been monitoring the share itself, but doesn't seem like it's going anywhere fast.

    I'm back

Awesome to see how this platform has grown since my last encounter. Happy to report that I am now back and hoping to contribute some value occasionally. Work has been EXTREMELY busy since around June or so, which means I'll probably fall away again come that time. On a side note, what happened to the ppc thread, cant seem to find it?
  20. So many predictions on gold pricing and most of them wrong. Anyone else stuck with some gold related shares and hoping for recovery like myself?
  21. 26% over 4 years, avg of 6% per year....... no thanks.
  22. Yes please
  23. I think you the only person actively following this, everyone else has moved along
  24. Perhaps, or the other scenario people seem to forget is that 3 people died, she might have been the attacker with her brother and got injured during the whole ordeal while killing the two parents and other brother.
  25. Yes public holiday, nice long weekend for some
