  1. TAS and AXL opening blood red. @Groovy that is a tough one AEEI did very good lately currently at almost 400 cents! However personally I would rather buy Premier Fishing directly
  2. Did not even see your in here! Hello Yea I wonder how they work behind the scenes, do they buy shares upfront or something? Hi yes, why would they treat this share differently? Why would they try and 'nanny' their customers, especially when it does not look like their reason is valid? WEIRD!? Maybe @jonobruton can shed some light on how this works?

  6. Not easy getting that average cost down.
  7. Please let EE allow me to buy today whilst the price is still low. I am going to be a tad bit sad if I cannot.
  8. I do not like phoning people. I really don't. I have an immense fear of it. Why can this not be sorted via live chat, this is a Fin-tech company after all.
  9. I get this error: I bought @ 49 cents and I want to buy a lot more now to get the average down. I buy in batches to catch the price down and then EE pulled this limit.
  10. PPC, Do you guys think it is worth climbing in? What is the latest news on them that affects their share price?
  11. Definitely. Wish I took that risk December 18 2015 I reshuffled my portfolio made a choice between KIO and NFEMON. I bought NFEMON I am up 16% KIO is up nearly 590% I feel like kicking myself.

  13. I think in the long term my choices will pan out, but hell like you have shown, the past year has been so weird all the markets are down yet no one is punting Armageddon, but when I look at my account it surely feels like it. STXIND - Dead DbxWD - Red DbxJP - I have no idea what the hell has happened there the past year CTOP50 - The JSE is overvalued so I suspect there will be a massive suprise waiting on us later this year. PTXTEN - Red The only ETF worth buying is NFEMOM
  14. The JSE’s belief that the Financial Services Board (FSB) did not follow the rules when it decided to grant a stock-exchange licence to newcomer ZAR X was plainly wrong, the regulator argued before the FSB appeal board on Monday. On the first day of the hearing, lawyers for the FSB said the JSE and 4 Africa Exchange (4AX) were given sight of all public documents they sought and it was not understood why they lodged the application to appeal. The JSE and 4AX are jointly appealing against the registrar of securities services’ decision to grant ZAR X a stock-exchange licence in September. The JSE has said it welcomes competition, but would like all participants to compete on a level playing field "bound by the same set of rules and in an environment in which important issues of public policy have been settled; issues such as regulatory standards, systemic risk and investor protection". Counsel for the FSB argued that the application was at heart a market-compliance issue. From bdlive
  15. ZAR X, an independent new South African stock exchange, accused the JSE on Monday of ulterior motives in appealing the decision of the Registrar of Securities Services in August last year to approve its stock exchange licence. Judge Louis Harms chairs the Financial Services Board Appeal Board that heard arguments from the JSE and the other appellant 4AX, and counter arguments by ZAR X and the Registrar. 4AX is also an aspiring stock exchange that was recently licensed. The JSE earlier announced on December 8 that after engagement with 4AX it had withdrawn its earlier appeal against the Registrar’s decision to approve 4AX’s licence . ZAR X CEO Etienne Nel has since accused the JSE of noncompetitive conduct and laid a formal complaint against the JSE at the Competition Commission. The hearing on Monday took place with only a month to go before the February 28 deadline set as a licence condition for ZAR X to start operating. Harms asked what the effect would be if his ruling were only made shortly before or even after that date. He said he might have to make an appropriate order in that regard, to which none of the parties objected. Counsel for ZAR X told the Appeal board on Monday that the JSE’s appeal is “nothing more than an attempt to stop competition”. He called it “nitpicking of someone on a fishing expedition” trying to set aside a potential competitor’s licence and pointed out that the JSE has had a monopoly for years. Harms responded that motives don’t matter if there are solid grounds for the appeal. Both the JSE and 4AX argued that the Registrar erred in its initial failure to make ZAR X’s full licence application available to them. Harms pointed out that failure pertains to an earlier licence application that ZAR X withdrew and that the parties later got the outstanding documents. He further put it to them that they apparently suffered no prejudice as a result of the failure, since they made no amendments to their appeals after they had an opportunity to study the documents. This, the appellants argued, does not detract from the fact that the process the Registrar followed was materially flawed. The JSE further objected to what it described as ZAR X disabling itself through its own rules from monitoring market participants for compliance. It argued that over and above compliance functions within market participants, ZAR X itself should have a structure to exercise the monitoring function placed upon it by the Financial Markets Act. ZAR X’s power to waive admission requirements are too wide and unlimited, the JSE argued. 4AX argued that there were procedural irregularities in the awarding of the licence and the Registrar failed in his duties in terms of the Act. The exchange argued that ZAR X should have the financial ability to do the monitoring of market participants on behalf of the Registrar, but that the rules fail to provide for it. It rejected ZAR X’s argument that the function was outsourced and that such outsourcing was permitted. 4AX said ZAR X was in fact avoiding its obligation and retained no capacity to exercise this obligation. 4AX also objected to what it considers to be wide powers given to ZAR X to reverse transactions on request of the issuer, without giving the investor an opportunity to respond to the issuer’s request. This, 4AX said, is open to abuse and will result in market uncertainty about the finality of transactions. ZAR X responded that the rules relating to the reversal of transactions should be read in the context of BEE shareholding. The exchange would create a platform for qualifying individuals to trade freely in such shares. Issuers would define the qualifying criteria for such investors in their Memoranda of Incorporation (MoI). If the issuer notifies the exchange that someone who does not qualify for ownership of such shares in fact made a purchase, the exchange would merely implement the issuer’s MoI by reversing the transaction. ZAR X said the waiver of admission requirements would occur only where it relies on outside certification to satisfy the requirements. It happens all the time all over the world and there is nothing sinister about it, ZAR X argued. All parties concluded their arguments.

  19. Agreed, after listening to that interview I must say, I'm looking forward! Sounds like a worthy CEO!
  20. According to the article ZAR X is live but the JSE are trying to stop them and 4AX are sometime in March, the others have applied and are waiting for licences. Has anyone seen where you can trade ?? I have received an E-mail from the CEO (I asked him if I can share it here)
  21. What is Ethereum for beginners? At its simplest, Ethereum is an open software platform based on blockchain technology that enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications. Is Ethereum similar to Bitcoin? Well, sort of, but not really. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum is a distributed public blockchain network. Although there are some significant technical differences between the two, the most important distinction to note is that Bitcoin and Ethereum differ substantially in purpose and capability. Bitcoin offers one particular application of blockchain technology, a peer to peer electronic cash system that enables online Bitcoin payments. While the bitcoin blockchain is used to track ownership of digital currency (bitcoins), the Ethereum blockchain focuses on running the programming code of any decentralized application. In the Ethereum blockchain, instead of mining for bitcoin, miners work to earn Ether, a type of crypto token that fuels the network. Beyond a tradeable cryptocurrency, Ether is also used by application developers to pay for transaction fees and services on the Ethereum network. What is a smart contract? Smart contract is just a phrase used to describe computer code that can facilitate the exchange of money, content, property, shares, or anything of value. When run on the blockchain a smart contract becomes like a self-operating computer program that automatically executes when specific conditions are met. Because smart contracts run on the blockchain, they run exactly as programmed without any possibility of censorship, downtime, fraud or third party interference. While all blockchains have the ability to process code, most are severely limited. Ethereum is different. Rather than giving a set of limited operations, Ethereum allows developers to create whatever operations they want. This means developers can build thousands of different applications that go way beyond anything we have seen before. How to buy Ethereum. In this guide I will demonstrate how I do it, this is not to be taken as advice you will still need to do your own research and I am certain there are other ways to do this so of course feel free to add your thoughts. My process flow for buying ethereum is as follows: I deposit money into Luno (bitx) I then buy bitcoin I then go to the Bitcoin Ethereum exchange I then trade bitcoins for Ethereum I then store the ethereum in my wallet Step One: Get A Luno Account Get your free Luno account and send them some verification documents Step Two: Buy Some Bitcoin After you've made an online banking transfer to Luno (BitX), you'll be able to buy Bitcoin in seconds Step Three: Trade Your Bitcoin For Ether CoinMarketCap has an extensive list of exchanges that allow you to buy and sell Ether. What Ethereum wallet do I use? This is where stuff becomes a tad bit tricky since there really isn’t a lot of wallets available as with Bitcoin. This is mainly due to Ethereum still being very new (Initial release: ‎30 July 2015). In my search I have come across four ways to store ethereum, I will continue to discuss them below: Option One and certainly the most secure way is to use a hardware wallet my favorite is the ledger wallet, but for this guide I will not be going into too much detail on hardware wallets. You can read more about them here - https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/1707/is-there-any-hardware-wallet-available-for-ethereum Option two is to use Geth which is a command line interface for using, sending, receiving, and creating contracts with Ethereum. Geth is a good option for programmers, but not a good option for users in search of an easy-to-use wallet. Option three is to use “the” Ethereum Wallet and MIST available from the official repository here https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases installing this wallet takes forever, it is certainly a good option, but you will need some patience and a fast internet connection because it downloads the entire ethereum blockchain to your computer. I will get into more information and steps how to install this later on in the guide. Option four is the one we are going to use in order to start out and get you going. There is a online wallet called Ethereum-wallet, open an account here http://ethereum-wallet.net/ please note this is an online wallet and security is not as good as an offline one like option three, but we need to get some ether in order to get started on the wallet in option three and this online wallet certainly is the most straightforward and trustworthy of the lot. That said if you already own bitcoin which you do since you bought it on luno (bitx) you can deposit bitcoin straight into your Ethereum/Mist account. For this guide however we will buy Ethereum on the Changelly exchange and then send that to your mist wallet. What Ethereum exchange do I use? I use https://changelly.com for when I want to convert bitcoin to ether the User Interface of Changelly is very intuitive and simple to use as demonstrated below. Then I also use https://www.bitfinex.com when I actually trade the currency pairs similar to what you would trade USD/ZAR USD/EUR and other forex securities. How to trade bitcoin to Ethereum Create an account on http://ethereum-wallet.net/ then create yourself an Ethereum Address this is what will be used in the next phase on changelly. Create an account on Changelly then follow the screenshot below basically you select the amount of bitcoin that you want to "convert/trade" for Ethereum and then after you have entered the amount proceed with the trade and you will be asked what you ethereum address is and then you will be given a bitcoin address to pay the bitcoins into. Once that is done you will notice ethereum in your account. That is it, you now own Ethereum. Now for the final step download the latest version of Mist from here https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases it will be a zip file so create a folder on your computer and extract the contents of the zip then open the .exe file. Now you need patience and a hell of a lot of it, this will now download the entire blockchain to your computer and it takes 10s of hours. Now you wait for hours, best get a cup-o-coffee for this part I use this website to get a quick glance at what the market is doing https://ethstats.net/ but those stats does not represent the whole network since the listed nodes are done on a voluntary basis therefor if you want accurate information and the latest block number https://etherscan.io/ Once mist has completed downloading it will open up a UI which you can then create new accounts each with their own account address and then you can send your Ethereum from the online wallet accross to your new wallet. EDIT I now use JAXX exclusively to store my Ether, I still use changelly, but I decided against the online wallet (http://ethereum-wallet.net/) I advise people use https://jaxx.io/
