  1. New Sygnia ETFs coming: Sygnia Itrix MSCI Emerging Markets ETF Sygnia Itrix Global Bond ETF Sygnia Itrix Global Property ETF Sygnia Itrix 4th Industrial Revolution Kensho ETF Sygnia Itrix S&P 500 ETF Sygnia Itrix Top 40 ETF Sygnia Itrix SWIX 40 ETF Sygnia Itrix All Bond ETF They're all at very low cost (I'm assuming if you are using their platform) but you have to wonder what the point of another S&P500, top 40 and SWIX 40 ETF is. To me it looks like they want you to use their platform and this will give you access to almost every type of ETF on there except for commodities and local property. OK, I'm sure there is more but considering those together with the DBX ones that was just bought over and you can build a decent portfolio with just these: Itrix World (40%) Itrix Emerging Markets (20%) Itrix Global Property (10%) Itrix SWIX (30%) Factoring in costs, EasyEquities might have a real problem should Sygnia keep the actual transaction fees low enough. That said, CoreShares did the same on their investment platform but buying and selling is done in bulk and it takes about 5 days for the actual transaction to go through which is very frustrating. If Sygnia does the same and the transactions aren't instant I think I'll pass on their platform and stick to EE and ABSA.
  2. Should just be a name change like when CoreShares took over the equally weighted top40 and rebranded it. Either way, EasyEquities will probably let you know if you need to take action. Only thing I can think off is dropping them in favour of SATRIX's ETFs [emoji14]
  3. Front seat. Makes it look less Uber-ish and saves you an encounter with a petrol bomb or two.
  4. So moral of the story: don't do it ?
  5. Thank you for crapping on my hope for the future
  6. Maybe, but even if this result in a "ZAR Coin" or whatever it means the technology is becoming mainstream and we're moving away from traditional money. I don't get the hate for some regulation - if you cannot track transactions and their owners and govern some of these transactions you'll not be able to stop lawless activities. And even though we are heavily taxed here in RSA for little reward you cannot run a country without taxes.

  8. The members include the heavy weights of South Africa's finance industry including FNB, JSE, Sanlam etc. Interestingly enough, also Citadel whose director, Geroge Herman, is very much against the use of Bitcoin and crypto currencies and called them the "playground of criminals" a few weeks ago. http://www.safbc.co.za/members/ Times are changing
  9. SimonPB reckons the cost of transferring your DBXWD to the new SATRIX ETF might end up taking you 4-8 years to make up if the spread and other factors don't fall in your favour. Either way, disappointed in Sygnia. If they carry on the way they do those Itrix/DBX products will soon only be used by people on their platform. Maybe she still doesn't like ETFs and are slowly trying to kill them in favour of those index tracking unit trusts /tinfoil hat
  10. EasyEquities - they have brilliant ideas but really lack the technical know-how and/or quality assurance to make one completely comfortable using them. Over the last 3 years my issues with them have been: * charging STRATE on ETFs * The wrong amount of shares allocated to my portfolio * charging STRATE on ETFs...again (AMIB50 btw, they are reimbursing those that bought it and got charged) * ...and now the issues with playintheusa which is running on the seemingly same platform as the rest of their stuff ... * wrong stock codes ... * ETFs gone missing They need to step up their game if they want to keep clients come March when we can move our TFSAs.
  11. Anybody here bought ETFs? Are they showing up in your account overview?

When one looks at that table one expects the reference number for the deposit to be there.

  17. Went for the EM IPO in my TFSA. Looked at the World one's fact sheet and I reckon I'll switch my DBXWD to it (or at least start buying it instead of DBXWD) when the time is right.
  18. Maybe it has been reported before, but I keep on getting these calls from a number: +27110621980 It will ring for a sit second and then hang up. If you call back you are greated with a electronic voice message telling you you're TV Licence is due. So what it looks like is the SABC being so broke, cheap and devious that they're making you pay to find out they want your money. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's worth blocking that number anyway.
