Would you invest in precious metals or internet money?

Not oblivious to the recent rally of bitcoin related news on SA websites, it made me wonder precious metals always seemed like the 'safe' thing and internet money seems like it's something you win or lose with.  

 

Then I looked at the charts and data of various precious metals including cold and silver and those metals don't look so "safe" after all.

 

 

What do you guys think?

I've never been a fan of precious metals. I think people are blinded by the finance world marketing gold as a "safe heaven". That was probably true in the 1920s.
