Yesterday I asked a coding AI to help fix a bug, but the answer changed half the function and created two new problems. I realized my prompt was probably too vague. How do you explain coding tasks clearly enough to get useful results without writing a huge paragraph every time?

A trick that’s helped me is to ask for a solution that fits the existing code instead of requesting a completely new implementation. I also mention any restrictions, like keeping the current function names or avoiding extra libraries. If you’re exploring different AI tools for coding tasks, you could check out brawe.ai/. I usually ask for a short explanation of the changes too, so I can review the logic and run a few tests before using the result in my project. That gives the AI something concrete to work with. Whatever tool you use, it’s worth sharing a minimal example that reproduces the issue and describing what you’ve already tried.

It’s useful to split larger projects into smaller steps. Instead of asking for an entire application in one prompt, start with the basic structure, then work through individual features and test them as you go. Keeping a few successful prompts as examples can also save time on similar tasks later. And even when the generated code looks correct, checking edge cases and reading the output carefully is still part of the job.
