The City of Cape Town has introduced a pump station control room that digitally tracks the live performance of its water and sanitation infrastructure.

 

In a statement issued on Monday, the city says it has invested over R7.4 million in the digital system, with staff actively monitoring 401 sewer pump stations, 58 water pump stations, and 60 reservoirs.
