Posting Rules

In order to keep our forums civil, organized and free of spam, we ask that members read and follow these guidelines. 

• Promotion of your business, email, website or opportunity is only allowed in your profile and signature. In all other forums, posts that have no purpose other than to display a link, to promote, or to solicit, may be deleted. This rule does not apply to company representatives.
• Affiliate Links are only allowed in your signature. Out-of-place affiliate links will be edited. Threads may be removed. 
• Cross Posting by posting the same message in multiple forums is spamming and annoying. Duplicate posts will be deleted in all locations.
• Dead Thread Revival by posting to an archaic topic that has seen no activity in several weeks is not good etiquette and any such posts might be removed. This will be open to interpretation by the mod in question.
• Respect your fellow posters. 
• All posts should be English. Afrikaans here and there is not a big issue, but for forum SEO and google compliance use English for everything. 
• Also, please, no gambling or casino related posts, links or promotions of any type. 

Spam Policy 

As our financial community is burdened daily with fraudulent offers and get-rich-quick schemes we have a strict policy of removing spam and banning those that ignore our common-sense rules. 

Failure to follow our forum rules, or posting any of the following forbidden promotions will result in the post being deleted, or edited and moved to the spam forum. The member will be banned immediately if they have contributed only the spam, if a decent member makes a mistake we may let that go with a warning. Those here only to spam their offer should not register. Private message spamming should be forwarded to me. PM spammers will be banned.

This thread will also be used to announce any updates or necessary feedback to users.

There has been a slight influx of spammers and people posting threads with "hidden" referral links for the sole purpose of getting hits and most of the time it is to crappy and dodgy sites.

So, if you are going to post a referral link, please don't hide it and post the whole link as is. If not and I deem it "spam" you have a permanent warning coming your way or worse.

We're here posting as a community and not a referral link dumping ground for one post wonders.

As the moderators, we'll try our level best to remove these posts and users but there are certain things that are out of our control. I have strong suspicion that there are users sending PM's to other users and potentially baiting them into scams especially with regards to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

When you receive a PM like this, please let me or one of the moderators know by PM'ing use the user's name and the details of the conversation (NOTE: only to mods) so we can take action. This also goes for anything you find suspicious - let the mods know so we can sort it out.

Dropbox - Dropbox is great for storage and backups. It has a huge amount of awesome plugin apps to improve your experience.

Mega - Secure cloud storage, you get 50GB for free. We use it to store large files and content backups.

Email automation

Automating our emails enables us to save time and focus on more important aspects of the forum. We have bespoke software that we use for email communications, however there are some tools that provide incredible insights, these tools are used by us from time to time.

Mailchimp -  Whether you need to sell your products, share some big news, or tell a story, their campaign builder makes it easy to create email campaigns that best suit your message.

Marketo - While it can be pricey, Marketo’s email marketing solution is robust.

Social-media management

Here at PW it's a daily grind to create content, schedule shares, engage with followers, repurpose content, share others’ content, community management… This list could go on forever.

We have found that the only way to effectively manage social media at scale is with the use of social media management tools that can improve our efficiency.

Hootsuite - It allows us to post threads to all social media networks and monitor Twitter and Google+ all in one place. The best thing about this paid for service is that it gives us an incredible insight in what our competitors are doing and how we can do it differently and better.

Bit.ly - It's a url shortener and click reporting tool all in one. It’s great for Twitter with short posts, and also tracking the clicks to help us understand how well our content converts traffic to the forum.

Bonus

Choosing the right social media management tools for your business requires you to have a good understanding of what your needs are. While a lot of the programs that we use here seem very cool, you might not need all the widgets and doo-dads to succeed.

TweetDeck - If Twitter is your primary social network, Tweetdeck is worth a look.

Step 1 is to click on choose file.

The first idea/mission with the page is to get new members in order to help grow the community.

In order for the Facebook Page to get a custom URL we first need 25 likes before Facebook allows it.

When we have 25 likes the page will be populated with "Hot" threads and general market data to try and capture the interest of the public.

The second purpose of the facebook page will be to keep members updated if something goes wrong for instance if the server is down or if maintenance is being done just to keep everyone informed etc.

All the likes will be appreciated lets grow this thing together.

We are already over 1000 pages imagine if this thing grows, would it be necessary to have a site map, I mean it will have to be generated daily and submitted and generating a sitemap when you get in that 5K pages range starts to become a tedious process.

So from a SEO perspective besides the sitemap and google webmaster tools, what strategies and technical changes can I make in order to get us growing continuously.

If you sign in and for some reason the website refreshes to what looks like the home screen without you being signed in fear not.

May I suggest though that you remove most of the finance sub forums and leave only one or two ("general finance" & "trading and investments"). That way you can concentrate the content in those two sections and split out one day when the need arises and you have enough users. Credit cards, debt, loans, budgets etc. all fall under General Finance anyway.
