How to build an Ethereum mining rig
#31
FYI guys, IceCubed exchange has just recently revamped their whole exchange, and have included Ethereum, so now you can trade bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin there.
If you are a miner, and want to get some Rand fast, you can exchange it for Rand on http://www.ice3x.com and then withdraw direct to your bank account.

Great walk through! When you are making some ETH, please come and sell it at http://www.ice3x.com!!

I will give you a 'miner' trading fee structure for being a market maker, that will mean more profit for you on trades.

Could you share the card settings you've got for max hash rate on equihash? I'm struggling to get over 400 per card

At that time it was mem clocked to 571, core clocked to -122 and power set to 68% - Used the 378.92 driver version on windows build 15063 with all updates disabled.

Latency on the network was below 8ms. ( You will not believe, but I have seen large drops in profit when the latency goes above 200ms)

New rigs we now flash the bios using NVIDIA NVFlash to get the power usage down essentially undervolting the cards.

That driver version broke all miners, claymore (eth) down to 10mh, equihash down to 200 or so... Huh I'll have to keep looking

How good are you with some more advance stuff?

I want a easy to understand tutorial on how to use https://github.com/nicehash/nheqminer, because their documentation is written like horse bum.

Edit: Seems that project is abandoned, instead I would like to run https://github.com/nicehash/excavator

I am interested to know how the ROI is going?

eg - can you maybe give a summary of :

Initial expense
number/type of coins mined so far?

i know difficulty etc will keep this a changing goal, but  you are now over 3 months in , so will be nice to know

Short summary - Profatibily went from R450 per rig per day down to R180 per rig per day (excluding electricity).

Still, a long way to go before we hit ROI (but the increase in coin value helps).

interesting dynamics. Still mining ETH only? or BTC?

Mining Ether and Zcash via nicehash on a good day and Sia + Ether using nanopool on a bad day.

@androux123 is mining monero if I recall correctly.

Good thing these GPU rigs are so versatile.

You can only mine Bitcoin using an ASIC miner which we do not have at this stage.

any changes needed on Card's when changing to another coin (cpu clocks / memory etc?)

Some fine tuning and there, but generally speaking no.

Simply switch between miner software, which will handle the integrate bits.
